It is the first file transfer demo where everyone understood what to do without me explaining a menu.

Camera-based file transfer
Make a fist to hold your files. Open your hand on the other device to drop them in. No cables, no cloud upload, no account required for a single transfer.
The idea
Files should move the way people do. By hand, across the room, in a single gesture.
How Dumpit works
01 — Grab
Point the camera, choose your files, and close your hand. No menus, no drag-and-drop, no upload bar to watch.
02 — Catch
Whoever opens their hand first catches it. Files move straight between the two devices, nothing sits on a server.
Same room vs. not
Either way, the gesture is identical: make a fist, open your hand. You never have to know which path was used.
From the people trying Dumpit
Early testers describe the moment the transfer clicks: less setup, less waiting, and a little more magic in the room.

I sent a folder across the room during a review and the other laptop caught it before I had finished saying “open your hand.”
Kelechi O. Creative lead · Abuja
The best part is that the file does not become a link. It just moves from my machine to theirs.
Tomi D. Frontend engineer · Ibadan
Dumpit made a classroom handoff feel natural. The teacher sends once and the room is ready for the next step.
Ruth N. Learning facilitator · Port Harcourt
I expected a gimmick. Then I moved a video between two devices and immediately wanted it on every desk in the studio.
Femi A. Video producer · Lagos
There is no account to remember, no cloud dashboard to open, and no awkward “where did I save that link?” moment.
Yasmin S. Operations manager · Kaduna
The gesture gives the transfer a clear beginning and end. You know when you have grabbed it and when the other person has caught it.
Emeka O. Studio founder · Enugu
It is surprisingly calm for something so visual. I can see who I am connecting to before anything opens.
Bisi I. Researcher · Ilorin
Small teams do not need another complicated sharing system. Sometimes you just need to hand over the file and keep working.
Chidi O. Independent developer · Owerri
Open Dumpit on two devices on the same Wi-Fi and try your first transfer in under a minute.
Try DumpitHow Dumpit works
Dumpit uses your camera to read two gestures. Everything else, the pairing, the transfer, the handoff, happens for you.
01 — Grab
Point the camera, choose your files, and close your hand. That's the whole gesture: no menus, no drag-and-drop, no upload bar to watch.
02 — Catch
Whoever opens their hand first catches it. Files move straight between the two devices, nothing sits on a server in between.
Who it's for
Why Dumpit
Files travel directly between two browsers. Dumpit's servers never see, store, or touch the contents of a transfer.
No upload step, no processing, no waiting for a link. The moment it's caught, it's already there.
Anyone else with Dumpit open on the same network just appears. No pairing code, no app to install first.
Open the page, stage a file, grab it. An account is only ever for history, never a requirement.
The interaction is the interface. A fist and an open hand replace file pickers, share sheets, and confirmation dialogs.
Since files never route through a server, there's no arbitrary cap built around someone else's storage bill.

About Us
Dumpit turns a file handoff into something natural and visible. No cable, cloud upload, or account needed for the moment you need to move something from here to there.
Founder & Lead Engineer, Morden Labs
Dumpit is a camera-first way to move files between people and devices. Instead of uploading to a service, finding a cable, or sending a link to yourself, you stage a file, make a fist, walk it to the other device, and open your hand.
It is built by Morden Labs, a software studio based in Lagos, Nigeria. Fadahunsi Miracle leads the product and engineering work behind Dumpit, bringing together real-time systems, thoughtful interface design, and the small details that make new technology feel natural.
Privacy
The short version: your files never pass through Dumpit's servers. Here's exactly how that works and what our server does see.
When you send a file on the same Wi-Fi, it travels directly between the two devices — router to router on your own network. When you use a one-time code to connect across different networks, the file still goes device-to-device over a direct peer-to-peer connection (WebRTC); our server is never in that path.
A small handshake message so two devices can find and connect to each other, and the device name you choose to show (e.g. "Gee's Phone"). Nothing about the contents, names, or size of the files you send — that stays between your device and the recipient's.
A one-time 6-digit code exists only to introduce two devices to each other. It expires once used and isn't tied to any account — Dumpit doesn't require sign-up at all.

Terms
Plain-language terms for using Dumpit.
Dumpit is provided free of charge for transferring files between devices you control or have permission to send to. You're responsible for the content you choose to send — Dumpit has no visibility into it and cannot moderate, recover, or restore it.
Dumpit is provided "as is." Because transfers happen directly between devices over your own network connection, reliability depends on your network conditions — we don't guarantee a transfer will complete without interruption.
Don't use Dumpit to send content you don't have the right to share, or to harass, deceive, or harm another person.
These terms may be updated as Dumpit evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.
